Release of new book:
THE BLESSINGS OF SURVIVORS AND FRIENDS

Another project accomplishment that demonstrates the opportunities available to help those in crisis to heal and survive through the process of creative expression. The long-awaited poetry and artwork anthology book, The Blessings of Survivors and Friends was just released this month.

CBS TV commentator and weatherman Ira Joe Fisher wrote an emotional forward for this latest compliation of poetry and art work from the A Way With Words Foundation. This 140 page book is liberally illustrated by cancer survivors and their supporters.

Christina's Hair-Raising

Her shop is directly across the mall hallway from the AWWWmazing Place! Boutique in the Boardman, Ohio Southern Park Mall. After watching how the A Way With Words Foundation store operates and the work it does, Christina Stroup came up with her own idea of how to cope with a personal loss and supoort the Foundation's cause: Christina shaved her head and donated her hair to cancer patients. While her hair grew back, Christina accepted donations in a jar at her own store, The Great Phoenix Trading Co. By the end of the Christmas holidays, Christina and her husband matched the donations dollar for dollar before turning over a total of $250.00 to A Way With Words Foundation.

On the jar, Christina wrote an explanation.
"Coins for Cancer. My Dad lost his battle awith cancer on September 6, 2002. This Christmas Season I decided to shave my head for cancer. Please Donate! ALL donations collected now through Christmas will go to A Way With Words Foundation. Thank you, Christina, President, The Great Phoenix Trading Co."
