Tony Stewart Foundation ROCcK Tour
Trip to Stewart's Hometown in Indiana a Success!

The ROCcK Children's Choir had quite an eventful trip to Tony Stewart's hometown in Indiana.

The Choir first sang out at Camp Jameson for under-privileged children and their families. About 125 attended the Choir's next appearance at the Riley Childrens Hospital.

The Choir members took a fun break at the local children's museum, getting recharged for the next outdoor concert. Held at Camp Riley, approximately 200 severely handicapped campers and their counselors were thrilled with the music and the Choir members themselves.

Everywhere they performed, the Choir and their audiences gave and received priceless gifts of hope and joy. Incomparable experience.

Thank you Tony Stewart for our supporters that helped make this happen!

2010 Indiana Trip to Children Hospitals

On Wednesday July 7, 2010, the ROCcK Children's Choir will kick off the Tony Stewart Foundation "Kids Helping Kids" summer Tour, by singing the National Anthem at the Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, where NASCAR drivers Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne, Dave and Dale Blaney will participate in the Lou Blaney Memorial Race. At the event, as part of the Tony Stewart Foundation and the continued work he does for children through it, Tony Stewart will present the choir members with back packs from his main sponsor, Office Depot.

The Tony Stewart Foundation has sponsored the ROCcK Children's Choir for the past several years, helping the Choir work as ambassadors of hope for terminally ill patients of all ages. On July 12th and 13th the ROCcK Children's Choir will be traveling to Indiana (Stewart's Hometown) to visit the local hospitals and camp he supports. The choir has accepted an invitation to perform at Camp Riley Amphitheater on Monday, July 12th. Camp Riley is a children's camp for seriously ill children. The performance is free and open to the public and campers.

With the support of several local businesses and fundraisers, the R.O.C.c.K. Children's Choir has raised the money necessary to travel to Tony Stewart's hometown in Indiana to visit Camp Riley on July 12nd and 13th, 2010.

First Stop 2009

The first stop of the Tony Stewart Foundation ROCcK Tour on October 16th at the Hope Cancer Care Center touched fans of all ages!

Funded by a Tony Steward Foundation Grant, the ROCcK Children's Choir first performed at the Hope Cancer Care Center in the Akron's Children's Hospital located in Boardman, Ohio. This day was chosen because the Choir members had the school day off and the patients were still in for treatment. The Choir practiced in the lobby for 15 minutes, entertaining staff and waiting families, and then went to the infusion (treatment room) to meet the patients and caregivers of all ages. The program was video taped for future patients and families.

The youngest members of the Choir, ages 3 and up, thoroughly entertained the patients with their enthusiasm and thrilled at being the center of attention. The patients and caregivers clapped in time to the "R.O.C.c.K.in' Rap" fun song that explains who the Choir is and what they do. The audience was moved to tears with the Choir's signature song, "Relay The Message (....there's Hope in what we do)". All that participated in the concert felt the hope inspired by the children, but more importantly felt the love shared by the ROCcK of all ages.

Tony Stewart Foundation Grant

The Tony Stewart Foundation (TSF) awarded a grant in September 2009 to the R.O.C.c.K. Children's Choir of Youngstown, Ohio. The grant supports the "kids helping kids" tour concept started by the Choir. The purpose of the the tour is to bring inspiration to families who have been touched by cancer. The resilience of a child's spirit can carry many through this difficult time. The TSF recognizes this need and has helped the Choir in the past.

In 2008, the TSF helped fund a trip for the R.O.C.c.K. Children's Choir to perform at the Victory Junction Gang Camp in North Carolina. The camp was founded by Paul Newman and the Petty family of NASCAR fame. The R.O.C.c.K. Choir was the first amateur group ever invited to perform at the camp/hospital. According to Bonny Davis, the Entertainment Counselor for Victory Junction Gang Camp, "It was a perfect fit. These are kids who have been there, gone through treatment, and now are inspiring others to believe." The concert was an emotional experience for the campers, staff, and volunteers.
